Imbue Botanicals Extends its Deepest Gratitude.

Today, January 12th is National Pharmacist Day. Here at Imbue Botanicals, we want to extend our deepest gratitude not only to our pharmacist partners out there, but to all pharmacists for the very important work you do every day in making the lives of your patients so much better. While we owe a special debt of gratitude to our wholesale pharmacy partners, our respect is anchored in the knowledge that patients turn every day for healthcare advice and guidance to the men and women who work in the more than 50,000 pharmacies across the United States.

But pharmacists hold more than a special place in our hearts. You see, without pharmacists, our products would not exist. We owe our very existence to one special pharmacist and physician. While hemp and cannabis can trace their roots back thousands of years, their use in the modern era can truly be ascribed to William Brooke O’Shaughnessy, an Irish born physician, scientist and pharmacologist who worked for the East India Company in India in the 19th century. During the 1840’s, he pioneered the early work in cannabis tinctures and is credited with testing these extracts on a number of ailments. Their popularity grew substantially in apothecaries in both Europe and the US roughly between 1840 and the early 1900’s until prohibition began to be enforced.

When we entered into business, we were determined to follow in the footsteps of O’Shaughnessy and not only replicate, but vastly improve his approach. Call us “purists” or “old fashioned”, or maybe just “traditionalists” in our approach to extraction and formulation, but we like to say that we were simply inspired by great minds that preceded us.

We believed that pharmacists out there could relate to that approach, and some four years later, it’s obvious they have. So while our very existence was dependent on one pharmacist, our ongoing success, indeed our future, is dependent on American pharmacists everywhere.

So Happy National Pharmacist Day to all you pharmacists out there. And a heartfelt thanks for all you do!

with all our best,

Imbue
