May is Military Appreciation Month

"No Duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks." James Allen

First proposed by the late Senator John McCain in 1999, May is Military Appreciation Month. And it has been honored every year since. While I didn’t agree with all of John McCain’s policies and politics, he still represented a true hero in my eyes, a man of character strength and compassion. And for me, a superb representation of what I believe our military is made of.

Each year the president makes a proclamation, reminding Americans of the important role the U.S. Armed Forces have played in the history and development of our country. May was chosen because it has many individual days marked to note our military's achievements, including Loyalty Day, established in 1921, Victory in Europe (VE) Day commemorating the end of WWII in Europe in 1945, Children of Fallen Patriots Day, and of course Memorial Day celebrated each May.

For us at Imbue, it’s only natural that we send our heartfelt thanks to all our Military members…both past and present. We’ve blogged about them on key holidays throughout the year and encouraged our friends, family and customers to recognize their service and sacrifice as well.

From the very start of our venture, we’ve offered a Veterans’ Discount Program for veterans and their spouses. And we’ve included military dogs as a part of the program. Not because we have to… but because it’s the right thing to do.

So this month, we encourage you to thank our military members for their past or present service. Take a moment if you can, to reflect on the proud tradition these men and women honor with their service. And most of all take time to recognize that without their sacrifice and heroism, our lives would not be as free and rewarding.

From all of at Imbue to all of the Military both past and present, THANK YOU!
