An Attitude of Gratitude…

I’ve been in sales and marketing most of my life. Salespeople, more than most in the business world, are drawn to books, programs, experts and speakers that espouse a “positive” approach to life and sales. It’s simple really. Sales people are the ones on the front lines who continually hear “NO”. And that continual rejection does take a toll on one’s psyche. Hence, sales professionals and the folks who make their living trying to prop them up, recognized years ago that a positive mental attitude would go a long way in helping sales people feel better about what they do, and most important, perform better at what they do.

One of the philosophies I’ve run across consistently in my years in business is the “Attitude of Gratitude”. The idea is, if you find those things you ARE thankful for, identify and embrace them, it will make your approach to life, and therefor sales, come from a happier, more positive place. And in concept, it’s a great idea. Only problem is, in many businesses, finding those things you can glom onto and reflect this “attitude of gratitude” is a real challenge.

Not for me. Not here at Imbue. And the reason, quite frankly, is you, our customers. Not because you buy our products, but because every day I hear from so many of you in person, on the phone, by email or review, about the wonderful success you’ve had using our products.

Whether it’s a child whose skin condition has cleared up, an adult who has been able to stop pain medication and now, for the first time in years, can experience the joy of her grandchild, or the 14 year old dog the vet said would die 3 months ago, and now is doing great and going on 90 minute hikes, or the sister who is seeing her brother with dementia smile and engage more.

These, and so many others, are the things that I am TRULY grateful for! So yes, for me it’s easy to have that “Attitude of Gratitude”, thanks to all of you. So keep sharing those heartwarming stories. As the great singer Dean Martin used to say, “we read every one!”
