It’s The Year of the Dog!
And We Think CBD Should Be Part Of It.
Unlike our calendar, which has the New Year beginning on January 1, the Chinese use a lunar calendar and their new year begins sometime in late January through mid- February. And each year is linked astrologically to a specific animal which, according to legend imparts certain traits to each specific year of the Chinese calendar.
This year, beginning on February 16th, is heralded as the Year of the Dog.
The Dog is the eleventh of all zodiac animals. According to one myth, the Jade Emperor said the order would be decided by the order in which they arrived to his party. Monkey, Rooster and Dog were in another country, helping a god defeat evil spirits. After, they set off to the party together. Because they arrived at the same time, the Jade Emperor went by the order they met the god in the other country. Thus, Dog became the eleventh.
A Dog’s most defining characteristic is their loyalty. They will never abandon their friends, family or work. Honest and just, they are popular in social circles. Everyone needs a Dog friend for advice and help. They are also good at helping others find and fix their bad habits. Despite how they act, they are worried and anxious inside. However, they will not let this stop them. Once they decide on something, no one can persuade them against it.
Those of us who own dogs can certainly identify with the paragraph above! Dogs are, many times, the most loyal members of our family… always there to give us their love and support unconditionally. I’m sure like so many of you, I remember those times when my dogs’ affection helped get me through a particularly rough patch in life.
And having owned Doberman Pinschers most of my life, I can truly identify with the determination part. In fact, I had to interrupt the writing of this article to get my 3 girls a treat they were determined to receive after a brief foray outside!
Which brings me to my point about CBD! After seeing what it has done for several of our girls, we made a determination that CBD should be part of their daily regimen, as a prophylactic measure if nothing else. A squirt of k9 comfort on their dinner, a k9 capsule with breakfast, a little k9 comfort salve applied to a slightly red patch on the skin before it gets worse. And I truly believe our dogs are healthier as a result.
So in this Year of the Dog, make a “New Year’s resolution” to take care of your best friend and loyal family member with CBD products from Imbue Botanicals. You’ll both be glad you did!
with all our best,
Tom
