OK to fly with Hemp CBD!

We get calls all the time from concerned customers who are traveling on business or vacation, wondering if it’s ok to travel with CBD. They’re concerned that some TSA agent might confiscate their product(s), or worse, detain them. And while even prior to the 2018 Farm Bill being signed into law, there were very few issues with TSA-related CBD incidents, I can certainly understand people’s concern.

Well on Monday of this week, TSA cleared up any misconceptions or misinformation when it published changes to its policies to allow for the “safe passage” of hemp-derived CBD products. The following excerpt is from an email that the US Hemp Roundtable, a leading industry group, sent out earlier this week:

POSITIVE UPDATE FROM THE TRANSPORTATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION: On May 27th, 2019, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) changed its policy surrounding hemp-derived products. Previously, these products were not allowed through TSA security. Now, according to the official regulations website, “Products/medications that contain hemp-derived CBD or are approved by the FDA are legal as long as it is produced within the regulations defined by the law under the Agriculture Improvement Act 2019”. This means that hemp-derived products approved under the Agriculture Improvement Act, or the Farm Bill as it is more commonly known, are allowed through TSA, along with FDA approved products containing CBD.

So there you have it! Next time you travel, no worries on bringing your Imbue Botanicals products along with you! And no more added anxiety when you pass through TSA security checkpoint if you’ve carrying them with you already…

With summer travel season getting under way, we thought we should pass this news along to you right away. It’s taken some time for the wheels of progress to get rolling following the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill late last year, but this latest pronouncement from TSA is one more indication that they are definitely rolling forward!

With all our best,

Tom
